Generally, there are two types of exercises that can be used to keep fit and healthy. One is the so-called aerobic exercises and the other the anaerobic exercises. Aerobic exercises used to keep fit are exercises of low intensity duration.
Both exercises, aerobic and anaerobic involve exercises that targets training for speed, strength and eccentricity.
Aerobic exercises used in keeping fit are called cardiovascular exercises as they generally strengthen the cardiac muscles.

The mentioned aerobic exercises in keeping fit and healthy are exercises that can be easily done indoors.
Examples of aerobic exercises that can be done outdoors can include:

These aerobic exercises indoors and outdoors had been shown to give the following health benefits.

Anaerobic exercises are those physical exertions that are intense to the extent of triggering anaerobic metabolism.
These exercises are those used by athletes involved in non-endurance sports. These exercises aim to promote speed, strength, power. In special cases of body builders anaerobic exercises promotes creation of body mass.
This exercise (anaerobic) differs from aerobic exercises as muscles trained in the former tends to develop different from the latter (aerobic), which promotes elevated performance for activities of high intensity and short duration lasting from a few seconds or up to two minutes.

Thanks for the definition between aerobic and anaerobic exercise. I don’t think many people understand the difference. Exercise is a key factor with diet to staying fit and healthy…and in shape.
Stay well, Eileen.
